Levels
Levels represent the seniority tiers in your organization (e.g., Junior Engineer, Senior Engineer, Staff Engineer). Each level describes its scope and impact, and maps out which skills are expected and at what proficiency.
Creating a level
Section titled “Creating a level”- Open Career Path → Levels.
- Click Add Level.
- Fill in the fields:
- Identifier — A short code like “L1” or “SE”.
- Name — Full title, e.g., “Senior Engineer”.
- Seniority level — A number ranking from 1 (most junior) upward. Levels with the same seniority number are grouped together in the UI.
- Description — Markdown field describing scope, expectations, and impact at this level.
- Click Save.
Setting skill expectations
Section titled “Setting skill expectations”Once you have both levels and skills defined, you can map skill expectations to a level:
- Open a level for editing.
- Under Skills used at this level, select the skills that apply.
- For each selected skill, choose a target proficiency level from the dropdown.
- Save the level.
These expectations are used in the Compare tab and Team Overview alignment calculations.
Level cards
Section titled “Level cards”Levels are displayed as cards grouped by seniority. Each card shows:
- Identifier and name
- Number of linked skills
- Avatars of team members currently assigned to that level
Deleting a level
Section titled “Deleting a level”Click Delete inside the level editor. Any team member assigned to the deleted level will have their level assignment cleared automatically.
